About Us

Gone are the days when dogs were utilitarian and were kept by man for specific functional purposes. Dogs have become an integral part of our every day lives. They've become part of the family. They sleep with us, they go for drives with us, they exercise with us, we take them on vacation with us, they have special food dishes, gourmet treats, scientifically formulated diets...we even have pet health insurance for them. So, of course the way our dogs spend their days while we are at work or vacation has changed as well. Doggie day care centers are popping up all over. Pet owners are saying, "My dog is too important to me to leave him home alone all day or to leave him in a kennel while I'm on vacation!" That's why "Dedicated To Dogs" is an all natural, open land space with NO KENNELS so that dogs can do what they do naturally; romp and play in groups, spend lazy afternoons in the sun, nap, romp some more, play some more, nap some more until mom or dad comes to pick them up at the end of the day. Wouldn't you LOVE for your dog to spend their days away from you like that??

"Dedicated To Dogs" is my brainchild, my passion! Growing up I was surrounded by dogs…my parents bred Boston Terriers and Doberman Pinschers so there was always dogs and puppies around. I have three dogs of my own; two Yorkshire Terriers and a Doberman Pinscher and someday hope to have more! I've worked in the retail pet industry, the veterinarian business, attended obedience classes and handler classes with my own dogs and have had the pleasure of tutelage with experienced obedience trainers. I've even tried my hand at confirmation dog shows with my Doberman Pinscher; Alexis. I have a well-rounded knowledge of many breeds and their temperaments, basic training knowledge, canine behavior, body language & social skills and I have overall common sense when it comes to thinking like a dog. I am a certified dog Groomer via Mount Ida College's Canine Studies Program. At a later date I will enroll in Mt. Ida's Animal Behavior/Canine Obedience course whereafter I will also offer obedience classes as a certified trainer.

Conventional kennels always disturbed me. While they are planned with good intentions, they just don't suit the needs of today's dog owners. I wanted something better for canines..something that simulates a dog's home life while their owners are away. That's where "Dedicated To Dogs" was born … 3.6 private acres at my home serving Middleboro, Halifax, The Bridgewaters, Raynham, Plymouth, Carver & Lakeville, etc but we even have customers North of Boston. We don't use kennels or runs. Your dog will be free to exercise and play with other dogs throughout the day in our huge outdoor fenced area or our indoor playroom. Whether your dog is here for Day Care, Grooming or Boarding, while your dog is at "Dedicated To Dogs" they are treated as if they were my own.

As things progress I hope to add pet supplies, premium dog food and pet photography to the list of services.

Proof of up to date vaccinations is required and all dogs are pre-screened for socialization behaviors and transitioned into the group before being allowed to play with other dogs in open space area.

Please see the Day Care, Grooming & Boarding tabs to find out the benefits of these services.

A few things you can learn from a dog:
-If what you want lays burried, dig until you find it.
-Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
-When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.

"IT'S JUST A DOG"
From time to time, people tell me, "lighten up, it's just a dog,"
or, "that's a lot of money for just a dog."
They don't understand the distance traveled,
the time spent, or the costs involved for "just a dog."
Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a dog."
Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a dog,"
but I did not once feel slighted.
Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by "just a dog,"
and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of "just a dog"
gave me comfort and reason to overcome the day.
If you, too, think it's "just a dog," then you will probably understand phrases
like "just a friend," "just a sunrise," or "just a promise."
"Just a dog" brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust, and pure unbridled joy.
"Just a dog" brings out the compassion and patience that make me a better person.
Because of "just a dog" I will rise early, take long walks and look longingly to the future.
So for me and folks like me, it's not "just a dog" but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams
of the future, the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment.
"Just a dog" brings out what's good in me and diverts my thoughts away from myself and the worries of the day.
I hope that someday they can understand that it's NOT "just a dog"
but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being "just a man."
So the next time you hear the phrase "just a dog" just smile, because they "just don't understand."
